Brad Mattes, President of the Life Issues Institute and speaker on the daily radio feature, “Life Issues,” stands at the forefront of the pro-life movement and he’s done so now for over four decades. In any given week, he’s sharing about the highs and the lows in the pro-life arenas.
On a recent program, Brad shared a heartwarming story about Andrew Harris who scaled the Grand Teton, the crown jewel of the Teton Mountain Range. Brad reflects that Andrew’s accomplishment is not only noteworthy on its own merit (the Grand Teton is second highest peak in the U.S.), but that it will also be noted in history books because Andrew also happens to have Down syndrome. And, at 32 years of age, Andrew became the first person with Down syndrome to successfully climb the iconic Grand Teton.
“I rejoice every time an individual with this condition excels because it shows the world they are people who can accomplish great things in life, so we should give them a chance while they’re in the womb.”
On the other side of the life issues pendulum, lives hang in the balance as Brad spreads the word that the Graham-Cassidy legislation is next up for voting.
Brad shares about the legislation,
“ There’s an eleventh-hour effort in Congress to repeal and replace Obamacare and end most funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest chain of abortion facilities. The Graham-Cassidy legislation uses a reconciliation bill which only requires a majority vote, not sixty to override a filibuster. But the deadline is September 30, so we must act now. Please contact your senators today and urge them to keep their campaign promises to repeal and replace Obamacare and end funding of Planned Parenthood. Ask them to support the Graham-Cassidy legislation before the deadline of September 30.”

(And, coming up for Sanctity of Life 2018, a new radio special, “Victims in the Shadows.” Designed to bring to light the reality that human trafficking is happening all around us, sometimes in our very own neighborhoods, Brad will share tools to equip parents to protect their children and communities to help save others from falling victim to it. In the special designed for airing on January 21, 2018, Sanctity of Life Sunday, Brad will also share about the connection abortion has with the world of human trafficking. Be on the lookout for more information (and the opportunity to audition the special) shortly. In the meantime, send me a note and I’ll be sure you’re among the first we let know of its availability!
