Impossible: In 1951, Bill and Vonette Bright founded Campus Crusade for Christ with a vision to reach the world.
Difficult: In 1979, the JESUS film debuted with the hope of reaching every person on earth with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Done: Today, the JESUS film is the most watched and translated movie, with over 490 million people indicating decisions to follow Christ since its launch.
In fact, the JESUS film project just announced their 1,500th translation … the Daasanach language! There are around 88,600 Daasanach people that reside in Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
While Cru is thrilled to share this milestone, there are still 5 billion nonbelievers that the JESUS film project is eager to reach. And interestingly, of the 5 billion, 2 billion are illiterate and will only be reached by visual and audio.
Can you imagine what it is like the first time people hear Jesus tell them He loves them in their own heart language?
