We usually picture children attentively listening to Bible stories in Sunday School, but Christian kids often make the most fearless evangelists.
My youngest daughter has a passion for telling others about Jesus. Just this week, she started telling me about her new friend who doesn’t know the Lord. It was so rewarding to hear her retell the simple way that she explained the gospel to her new friend. She told her friend, “Even the best-behaved person is a sinner, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins, because no one can get to heaven as a sinner.” This was all new to the little girl, because she is unchurched.
On a recent Share Life Today, John Sorensen discussed how Evangelism Explosion helps to train children to share their faith in Christ. John said,
Children have their whole lives ahead of them. And everywhere they go, they meet people. So, just think: when a child is equipped to share their faith, then the gospel goes everywhere they go. And have you noticed that children don’t have the same hang-ups talking about Jesus that we adults often have? They don’t worry about what someone will think. They just want their friend or their mom or dad or grandma or grandpa to know Jesus – so they tell them about Him. And in case you’re wondering if it’s really possible for children to share the gospel, I can tell you from experience with Kids’ EE that children can share the gospel and, dare I say, even better than some adults.
