Wish there were more hours in your day?
Good news. This Thursday, June 21st, is the summer solstice – the longest day of the year.
While technically we will only have the standard 24 hours, 1140 minutes and 86,400 seconds on Thursday, we will see more daylight. And, so as the saying goes, there will be more opportunity to . . . make hay while the sun shines.
And making the most of every opportunity is something Joni Eareckson Tada and Joni and Friends knows very well. In addition to sharing the hope of Christ in their daily radio outreaches, “Joni and Friends” and “Diamonds in the Dust,” the ministry’s Family Retreat schedule is in full swing! This summer alone, the ministry will host 29 domestic Family Retreats (plus 1 marriage and 2 wounded warriors) and 10 international retreats.
“Family Retreats” are held annually as a respite for families weary with the demands of caring for a disabled family member. At the retreats, families are cared for, encouraged, and rejuvenated in a Chris centered, fully accessible camp environment. Each Retreat site provides worship, teaching, fun, age-appropriate activities and cultivates meaningful connections with the families who understand the challenges of life with a disability.
As the summer solstice draws near and the ministry anticipates the summer ahead, thank you for joining in prayer for the outreach of Joni and Friends – on the airwaves and at family retreats!
