You know those days when your typical morning commute is anything but ordinary?
As I drove to the office last Friday—on the same route I take every day and know very well—I encountered unusual traffic because a major intersection’s light was down.
It was a small adjustment to the day’s start, but a change nonetheless. And every person reacts to unexpected circumstances in different ways. In the midst of U-Turns and brake lights, I observed one reaction I’d never before seen.
A driver took a “short cut” by crossing over to the opposite side of the road, against the flow of traffic, to pull into a parking lot and reroute his drive.
Efficient? Sure. Effective? Maybe. Safe? Legal? Absolutely not.
Every day, we encounter modifications to our planned journey—big and small. There’s a constant rerouting that has to take place. And just like last week’s driver, sometimes it’s pretty tempting to ignore rules and caution in an effort to find the easiest and fastest way to our goals.
That’s why I’m thankful for Charles Morris and the ministry of HAVEN Today. Charles approaches Christian living with the background of a journalist, the training of a pastor, and the empathy and wisdom gleaned from real-life experiences.
Those elements mix beautifully for a unique blend of teaching and instruction that guides the soul in a practical and biblical way. When listeners feel like giving up, don’t know where to turn next, or are tempted to cut corners—Haven offers course corrections through reminders and teaching from the Bible.
Last week was a look at Scriptural worship songs that minister to daily life. This week explores the book of Daniel and the peace and strength he found in the Lord during times of extreme stress.
Charles says, “All other hope will fail, except the one hope God has provided through His Son.” Thank you for what you do to proclaim that truth to your audience every day!
