We celebrated the Lord’s Table in church this weekend and as we sang When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,  I was moved to tears.  As we sang the cherished old hymn and I  reflected on the sacrifice our heavenly Father made in sending His one and only son to die on the cross for me, the reality of His deep and unwavering love was just  . . . overwhelming.

It’s said hymns are like sermons – they articulate and pronounce biblical truths. Looking around my church Sunday morning watching high schoolers and the elderly singing hymns, I couldn’t help but think about how hymns also unite us as believers.

Hymns are one of the reasons I’m looking forward to the National Religious Broadcasters Convention (NRB).

On Wednesday, February 28th at 10:00AM as the grand finale to Ambassador’s annual Meet & Greet, we will host what’s become a treasured NRB highlight – hymn singing with Joni Eareckson Tada!

Tune into Joni’s radio programs, “Joni and Friends” or “Diamonds in the Dust,” and you’ll hear firsthand what hymns mean to Joni:

I love the words to the old hymns!  When I was first injured and laying in my hospital bed in the dark, I would chase away fear by softly singing my favorites.  God used the timeless words of those beautiful hymns to lift my spirits and draw me close to Him.

Take a look (and listen!) to some of Joni’s favorite hymns on the ministry web site. And, mark your NRB calendar to join us on Wednesday, February 28th in Delta Island E for the Meet & Greet at 8:30AM followed by the hymn singing with Joni at 10:00AM!
