Our puppy, Balto, always finds a way to snuggle.
Whether it be walking along the very edge of the bed or squeezing his way into the tiniest gap, he will overcome any obstacle to find a way into my arms.
And while this can sometimes be a little bit overbearing, it brings me so much joy to know that he knows he’s always welcome.
He confidently accepts what we’ve extended to him—and it makes me wonder how our lives would be different if we chose to consistently step into the invitations the Lord has already offered to us.
On his daily feature, It’s Time to Pray, Pastor Carter shared:
It’s so sad when Christian people forget to live in the victory which has always been theirs. Looking back, they can remember when God miraculously delivered them from struggles and situations which would have overwhelmed them had He not intervened. All they had done to be free is to call out for his help. If you’ve forgotten to pray, and your old enemies are creeping up behind you again, return to your place of victory.
No matter our circumstance, the Bible says that victory is already ours.
And when we find ourselves living in anything but victory, Pastor Carter encourages us to cry out to our King as we read in Psalm 116:1-2:
“I love the Lord because He has heard my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore, I will call upon Him as long as I live.”
So—just as Balto does for snuggling—may we continue to fight against any obstacles placed in our paths that keep us from the loving and victorious arms of our Savior.
