Was America founded on a Christian heritage? It’s a great question to ask as we celebrate this 4th of July!
Pastor Jim Garlow, sharing on a special edition of The Garlow Perspective, says that the next time you’re in Washington, DC, take a look for yourself at the evidences of a Christian heritage—you may be surprised at what you discover!
- At the Washington Monument, check out the engraving on the capstone. It reads: “Laus Deo”—meaning “Praise be to God.”
- On the Supreme Court building, you’ll see a marble statue of Moses holding the Ten Commandments.
- Even at Union Station—the front of the building contains three verses from Scripture: “Thou hast put all things under his feet;” “The truth shall make you free;” and “The desert shall rejoice and blossom like the rose.”
That’s just a few of the many biblical reminders in our Nation’s capital!
Jim brings home the point that America was founded with a perspective rooted in Christian principles and ideals!
He shares more in his book, “Well Versed: Biblical Answers to Today’s Tough Issues” which serves as the ultimate scripture-based guide for Christians looking for answers, reassurance, and resources on topics including Israel, terrorism, debt, taxes, abortion, minimum wage, bioethics, the role of government, war, Islam, entertainment, and many more.
Listeners will hear more messages from Jim’s book on upcoming features. If you don’t currently air “The Garlow Perspective,” but would like to air the special July 4th message, please contact me at Jennifer@ambaa.com.
