The 2017 MLB season began last week – exactly five months after Game 7 of the 2016 World Series. And over the course of the of two days, all 30 teams played and Giants ace Madison Bumgarner hit two home runs Sunday to set the major league record for the most Opening Day home runs by a pitcher.
But the most important home run last week was not hit on the baseball field.
“I totally agree with conservative Senator Ted Cruz who said President Trump “hit a home run” with his Supreme Court nomination of Neil Gorsuch.” Brad Mattes, President of the Life Issues Institute and speaker on the daily 1:00 pro-life radio feature, “Life Issues.”
As many across the nation celebrate the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court as a huge “win for the pro-life movement,” Brad notes:
“The confirmation of Justice Neil Gorsuch brings America’s babies and their mothers an important step closer to being protected from the abortion industry.”
He shares that the Tenth Circuit Court Judge wrote a book on euthanasia and assisted suicide in which he wrote:
“All human beings are intrinsically valuable… the intentional taking of human life by private persons is always wrong.”
Looking ahead, Brad observes that rumors continue to circulate that US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy may be the next justice to retire, which he notes, means “we MUST be ready to engage in an even more difficult battle.”
