There is no doubt that this is one crazy election year and I, like you, have been trying to sort through the confusion as I consider my voting choices. I know that you and your listeners are likely doing the same. How do we answer the questions, “should Christians vote in this election,” and “how should we vote?”
These questions were posed to Pastor Jim Garlow and after giving his answer through various platforms, he composed a well written, rational piece that was recently published in Charisma Magazine. As of this posting, the article has passed 900,000 shares and over 158,000 likes on Facebook! I encourage you to take the time to read it and share with your audience.
As Jim shared recently on his daily radio program, “The Garlow Perspective,” he feels strongly that pastors must present the biblical answers to society’s problems. If pastors don’t do it, then who will?
He says, “And if the Bible has answers, why should we as pastors be afraid to speak out on these issues? Are we afraid to be labeled ‘political’? I do speak out from the pulpit on these issues. But let me be clear. My hope is not in any political party. My friend Sammy Rodriguez, a pastor and one of the most influential Latino leaders in the country said it best: ‘Our hope is not in the donkey, or in the elephant, but in the Lamb!'”
So thank you for doing your part in speaking out on these critical issues through your daily release of “The Garlow Perspective.”
