As hard as it is to believe, Labor Day Weekend is here. Do you know what your radio station is doing to honor and celebrate the holiday?
Here are 3 social media ideas to engage with your listeners and share the spirit of Labor Day!
1. Post a Famous Quote
There are so many great quotes to inspire your social media followers on Labor Day. Here’s a few to choose from:
- “It’s not the hours you put in your work that counts, it’s the work you put in the hours.”—Sam Ewing
- “There is no substitute for hard work.” – Thomas A. Edison
- “All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

2. Share a Labor Day Recipe
Consider hosting a contest for the best BBQ recipe and encourage your followers to submit their recipes for a reward. Then, choose the best recipe and go on Facebook and Instagram to declare the winner!
You could also share BBQ recipes from your station’s staff – invite your social followers to make one of the recipes over the holiday, post a picture on their social pages and tag your station. Reciprocate by sharing their post on your station’s social pages!
3. Show Your Patriotism
Labor Day is the day to celebrate what makes America so great by paying tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. Consider posting a patriotic image and message on your social pages. Canva is a great resource for holiday images and templates – you can even customize their images!
